Organizational Capacity Assessment and Certification workshop
As part of the capacity building component of the LRC's 2014-2018 strategy, and with the support of the IFRC, the Organizational Capacity Assessment and Certification (OCAC) workshop was organized in Radisson Blu Hotel- Ein el Mraysseh for three days. Participating were the Vice President Dr. Maryam Ghandour, the Secretary General George Kettaneh, 3 members of the executive committee, the heads of 3 local branches, as well as volunteers and staff from many departments.

The workshop opened by speeches said by the president of LRC Suzanne Oueiss the S.G Mr. Georges Kettaneh, and the director of MENA zone office of IFRC delegation Mr. Elie Ghanem. The objective of the workshop was to evaluate the current organizational capacities of the Lebanese Red Cross. The next step for LRC now is to integrate the identified opportunities for improvement into an overall development plan that will help LRC to build its capacities and thereby increase, improve and sustain the services that it provides to the population in Lebanon.

It is worth mentioning that OCAC is an assessment and benchmarking process developed by the IFRC to contribute to the Strategy 2020 primary enabling action of "building strong national societies" and has already implemented in more than 40 national societies around the world.
