Saudi Embassy Honors Lebanese Red Cross
The Saudi Arabian charge d’affaires Mr. Walid al-Bukhari visited the headquarters of the Lebanese Red Cross on Spears at the head of an embassy delegation that included head of Economic and Cultural Affairs Mr. Marwan al-Saleh and head of Public Relations Ms. Fadak Baban. They were welcomed by LRC President Dr. Antoine Zoghbi and a number of Executive Committee members, directors, and volunteers.
The visit was aimed at granting a commemorative shield from the Saudi embassy to the LRC to honor its humanitarian work. The shield was received by Dr. al-Zoghbi during a ceremony that saw the president deliver a speech that thanked Ambassador al-Bukahri and the diplomatic staff for their generous gift. He also thanked Saudi Arabia for its humanitarian work throughout the world. Ambassador al-Bukhari delivered a speech thanking the LRC, from its management to its volunteers, for its humanitarian work that reaches everyone with absolute neutrality. The ceremony also saw the airing of a video, which was accompanied by a detailed explanation by Secretary General Mr. Georges Kettaneh, of the National Society’s neutrality and its acceptance and respect by all.
The Saudi delegation also visited the EMS station at Spears where they were given a detailed explanation of its work and constant preparedness to respond to calls.
