The Lebanese Red Cross Opening the Central EMS Dispatch Room
Under the patronage and in the presence of its President Dr. Antoine Zoghbi, the Lebanese Red Cross opened the Central EMS Dispatch room in Hazmieh that was funded by the European Union Regional Trust Fund (MADAD). The opening ceremony was attended by Mrs. Sara Campinoti representing the Ambassador of the EU to Lebanon accompanied by a delegation, the Director of Medical Care at the Ministry of Public Health Dr. Joseph Helou representing the Minister of Public Health Dr. Jamil Jabak. the Austrian Ambassador to Lebanon Mr. Marian Wrba, the Chief Medical Officer Prof. Raymond Sayegh, representatives of IFRC & ICRC, Ministry of Communications, syndicates of hospitals, and Touch, the mayor of Hazmieh, Mr. Jean Asmar and a number of supporters, partners and friends. In addition, officials from LRC attended the ceremony: the Treasurer in the LRC Mr. Bassam Mokdad, the responsible of EMS Sector Ms. Rosy Boulos, the SG Mr. Georges Kettaneh, directors and volunteers.

Following a welcoming speech by the Director of EMS Mr. Abdullah Zogheib, the Director of the Dispatch Room Development Project, Mr. Hassan Saad, presented the stages of the Dispatch room development and the latest techniques used. Afterwards, there were speeches by Ms. Campinoti, Dr. Helou and Dr. El Zoughbi.

Finally, the attendees visited the room and listened to a detailed explanation by Mr. Kettaneh on the procedures and techniques used in receiving calls, reporting, moving ambulances, and following up until the end of the mission.
