An Annual Exhibition and Different Activities
In his speech, during the opening of the handcraft and annual food supplies exhibition of the Lebanese Red Cross branch in Batroun (North), the President of the Lebanese Red Cross, Sheikh Sami El Dahdah admired the Lebanese families for raising their children on the values and love of giving and praised the importance of volunteering which is increasing day after day. He said: “the Lebanese citizen is humanitarian in his nature and he is disposed for the love of giving and his sacrifice for nothing in return, we must facilitate this spirit for him …”

The President of the branch Miss Claude El Darzi, the branch members and several economic, social and developmental figures, the local committees, friends and supporters attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition which lasted from 8 to 16 December.

After cutting the traditional ribbon and a tour in the exhibition, Miss El Durzi thanked the President for sponsoring the opening of the exhibition and the ladies who volunteered and participated in realizing it.

Also, the Lebanese Red Cross - Batroun honored the physicians of the branch in appreciating their giving and efforts for the sake of those in need. The ceremony was attended by the volunteering members and the workers in the branch. The President of the branch, Miss Claude El Darzi made a speech in which she praised the efforts of the physicians who devoted themselves to offer the medical services in the branch. She described the meeting as an annual tradition which is like a chance to thank those who lend a helping hand to rescue the vulnerable through the Lebanese Red Cross.

And in a humanitarian gesture, Mrs. Mary Zakhria, a well-known woman in Batroun, organized a large lunch in the occasion of her retirement and asked the invited to replace the gifts with donations to the Lebanese Red Cross.
