U.S. Congressmen Legation Visits the Lebanese Red Cross Headquarters
On the occasion of its visit in Lebanon, a legation from the U.S. congress visited the Lebanese Red Cross headquarters in Spears, Beirut. The legation was headed by Congressman Nick Rahal and included Congressmen Darrel Issa, Ray Lahood, John Linder, Charlie Melancon, and Jack Kingston. Additionally the legation was accompanied by Ambassador Michele J. Sison along with high officials from the U.S. embassy in Beirut.

The legation was received by the President of the Lebanese Red Cross Mr. Sami El Dahdah, officials and volunteers from the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department, and two members from American Task Force for Lebanon.

The visit aimed to show the continuity of support and aid for Lebanon provided by the Lebanese community in the United States of America through the Lebanese Red Cross. The legation checked 3 new ambulances that were purchased through a fundraising campaign organized by American Task Force for Lebanon and supported by a generous contribution by the Issa family foundation, headed by Congressman Darrell Issa. This contribution aimed to support the Lebanese Red Cross in its EMS strategy. Furthermore, the legation valued the Lebanese Red Cross efforts through its services that reach all the Lebanese regions and communities. They also listened to explanations on the EMS strategy and its conducts of accomplishment especially in the field of ambulances, its designs, and contents that should assimilate vital requirements in rescuing operations.
