The Lebanese President, Michel Suleiman, represented by the Minister of Public Health, Mohammed Jawad Khalifa, sponsored the twenty-fifth commemoration of the martyrs of the Emergency Medical Teams in the Lebanese Red Cross, which was held at the Conference Palace in Dbayeh.

The President of the Lebanese Red Cross, Sheikh Sami al-Dahdah, stressed on the importance of respecting the international conventions, especially the laws about protecting the Medical Teams.

Khalifa confirmed that the patronage of the Lebanese President for this event is only a confirmation on the respect and appreciation of the national role played by the volunteers in rescuing the needy in all the circumstances, and securing their needs for blood and many social services.
