The Lebanese Red Cross graduated paramedic trainees
The Lebanese Red Cross had graduated 70 of its Emergency Medical Technicians, who took part in specialized courses in Medical Management and Support for Major Incidents (main curriculum and advanced approach), within a common cooperation project between the international committee for the Development of Populations CISP and the Lebanese Red Cross. This ceremony was held in Baabda in the presence of Mr. Antonio Regueti the Attaché of press of the Italian embassy, Mr. Giorgio Maccor the representative of the Italian cooperation office, and representatives of the Foundation CISP in Lebanon and the Developed Life Support team/ Italy. The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Sami Al Dahdah the President of the Lebanese Red Cross, the head and the director of Emergency Medical Technicians, Rozy Bouloss and Georges Kettani.
The ceremony began by a minute of silence in the memory of the martyrs and a speach by the CISP representative in Lebanon, the project director Ms. Simon Abou Jaoude who explained the framework of cooperation with the Lebanese Red Cross especially this project that will continue till 2013, which funded by the Italian government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, and aims to unify the criterias for operational intervention in emergencies and how to deal with health conditions. The project also looked at the Lebanese Red Cross support through some equipments. Finally, Ms. Abou Jaoude spoke highly of volunteers’ capabilities.
Moreover, there was a thankfulness word spoken by Mr. Al Kettani who thanked every one participated in this cooperative project that comes under an implementation strategy of Emergency Medical Technicians in the Lebanese Red Cross in the field of training and developing the skills of paramedic volunteers.
The Al Kettani also presented the several projects of cooperation between the Lebanese Red Cross and the CISP and other Italian organizations, which started since 2000, and he explained the nature of the current training project that trains the paramedics on the Major Incident Medical Management and Support through main curriculum and advanced approach.
After the distribution of the certificates on the graduated trainees, the Life Support team/Italy offered a medal of honor to the Lebanese Red Cross that was received by Shiekh Aldahdah.
