The Lebanese Red Cross organizing the child’s festival 2011
The volunteers of the youth department of the Lebanese Red Cross organized child’s festival 2011 where 300 volunteers from the youth centers and their 34 clubs from most of the Lebanese areas had participated in its organization in forume De Beirut. The festival opened its door for free for two days and received about 7000 child with their parents or through their schools from the age of 6 till 15 where they played and react with the volunteers through meaningful interactive, educational, and recreational activities, in addition to environmental and health awareness. The activities aimed to promote the humanitarian norms to educate the child to acquire the concepts of peace, tolerance, non-discrimination, non-violence and the Child’s rights, and the principles and rules of international humanitarian law, and principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.


The festival was opened by the president of the Lebanese Red cross Sheikh Sami Al Dahdah in the presence of officials from the Belgian Red Cross, who is the sponsor of the festival, the Lebanese Red Cross, and a large number of volunteers from the youth centers. After the opening, the participants made a tour in the festival and listened to the explanation of Nadime Hetti and the organizers.


It is worth to mention that the festival received, before the opening for public, 41 young prisoners from the Reform Institute where they toured, played, and spent a great time.
