Nursing Institutes
Historic preview:
The Lebanese Red Cross nursing institute was founded on November 27, 1947, according to a presidential decree. It was the first nursing institute in Lebanon and was located at Spears Street in Beirut. Its mission was to grant diplomas to nurses (male and female), working in health centers in Lebanon and abroad. In 1981, the institute was moved to Baabda.

Studying in the institutes Today:
After more than 60 years of experience in teaching and training, the Lebanese Red Cross nursing institutes today provide studies at one nursing institute and three nurse’s aid schools, to acquire the following degrees:

1-BS in Nursing:
Students who have a Lebanese baccalaureate II or official equivalent can enroll in the Baabda Institute:
Teaching duration: 3 years
Teaching languages: English/French

2- DU Urgences:
Students who have a nursing degree can enroll in the Baabda Institute for a one-year program.

3- LICENCE TECHNIQUE (LT) in nursing:
Lebanese Red Cross – Institute of Nursing Sciences- Tripoli
Students who have a Technique Supérieure (TS) in nursing can enroll in these institutes for a one-year program.
Teaching language: French

4 - Technique Supérieure (TS) in nursing:
Lebanese Red Cross – Institute of Nursing Sciences - Tripoli
Students who have a regular baccalaureate II or a technical baccalaureate (BT) in nursing can enroll in these institutes for a two-year program.
Teaching language: French

5- Baccalaureate Technique (BT) in nursing:
Students who have an official certificate diploma (Brevet) or an official Professional Certificate (BP) can enroll in these institutes for a three-year program.

Academic and Applied studies:
Courses at the institutes are taught by specialist doctors, who are lecturers in the proposed materials within a decided program for each major, and specialties and trainers with experience in preparing nurses, who are always pursuing specialized courses in Lebanon and abroad to keep pace with scientific development in the field of nursing science.
Administrative and academic supervision:
The teaching department of the Lebanese Red Cross is in direct charge of the supervision and administration of its nursing institutes. This guarantees that the required academic and technical level is reached, as well as the development of educational curricula and programs.
